A third faction comprised of former empire trading houses and named the Syndicate was also mentioned, albeit only briefly.Įach faction has its own specific traits such as weapons group and favorable terrain. We got to see the commander customization process and hear a bit about the backgrounds of two of the factions - the Vanguard, human expeditionary forces and the Kir'ko, insectoids that lobotomized their Hive Queens to obtain freedom.
